We get a vivid picture of how a profound shift in the collective unconscious of Western Civilization –away from spirit, and towards matter– prepared the ground for both the rise of the natural sciences, and women's liberation.
Both deeply supportive of this re-balancing, yet aware of the dangers inherent in an over-correction, Dr. von Franz (pronounced /fònnFRÙnce/, btw) weaves a vision of a 'Union of Opposites' and a conscious, deliberate development of each individual personality as the new guiding stars on the way of what is to come.
